Young Farmer Grant
The Texas Agricultural Finance Authority (TAFA) was created in 1987 as a Public Authority within the Texas Department of Agriculture. TAFA provides financial assistance through eligible lending institutions to creditworthy individuals and businesses.
T AFA provides financial assistance through loan guarantees to lenders for eligible applicants who wish to establish or enhance their farm and/or ranch operation or establish an agriculture-related business.

Grant Applications
TAFA shall accept grant applications during two application periods each year. Notice of these grant periods will be published in the Texas Register. If an application is late or incomplete it will not be considered.
NOTE: 2009 APPLICATIONS ARE DUE DECEMBER 1,2009
Grant Limits
The minimum grant is $5,000 and the maximum grant is $10,000.
