About The Panelists

Howard Garrett is a landscape architect by training, with extensive experience in landscape contracting, greenhouse growing, golf course planning and maintenance and organic product development. Howard has devoted his life to establishing a leadership role in the natural organic marketplace. He provides advice on natural organic gardening, landscaping, pet health, pest control, and natural living.

Bob Webster has hosted the KTSA Garden Show on KTSA since 1991. His goal is for everyone to understand how easy it is to create colorful landscapes all twelve months of the year. Professionally, he has managed and owned retail nurseries since his college days at SMU. He ranches in Boerne and grows orchids, which he sells wholesale through his own company, Texas Orchid Company. Bob also owns and manages the Shades of Green Nursery in San Antonio. He is the Author of Gardening in South Texas.

John Krause, co-host of WBAP Radio’s Living Natural First radio show has been Store Manager at Wells Brothers Farm Store for over eight years. He’s responsible for making Wells Brothers a destination for lawn and garden needs. Along with the radio show, John gives speeches on gardening all over the metroplex. Recently he’s earned the Master Gardener title from Texas A & M Extension. When not working or goofing around on the radio, you can find John in his garden or on the golf course.

About TNLA Organic Education

Organic Education was founded in 2007. Its board is made up of North Texas area regional leaders, educators and consultants within the horticulture and green industry communities who embrace organic principles.

Organic Education, founded in conjunction with The Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park in Dallas, was recently adopted and backed by the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association (TNLA) as an official TNLA Region IV sub-committee, and is now known as TNLA Organic Education.

  1. Hi I just have a question for John Krause, Bob Webster, and Howard Garrett. What got you guys interested so much in the agriculture business and what do you use for your plants to keep them so weed free and growing so well? It seems like you all know what you are doing and I’d like to get some advice and possibly build a friendship with some leaders in the agriculture business.
