TOFGA Elects New President, Vice President

Susan Beckwith

Susan Beckwith, TOFGA President

Friday night, members elected Susan Beckwith as the new TOFGA President. Susan owns Shades of Green Farm, along with her partner Jules, in Bastrop County, Texas. The certified organic farm produces roasting chickens, eggs and beef.  Susan is also the Assistant General Manager of Coyote Creek Organic Feed Mill, the first commercial organic feed mill in the State of Texas.  She has been an integral member of the team that built the mill and have developed the mill alongside Jeremiah Cunningham into a successful, growing business.  The creation of many new organic farms in Texas is a direct result of the existence of Coyote Creek Organic Feed Mill. Susan has led several non-profit organizations with budgets in excess of $1 million. She hopes to offer TOFGA members a reenergized organization with increased member participation.

Mark Chapin, running unopposed, was elected Vice President. Mark was the main organizer behind TCOOPS 2009 and 2010. He also led the previous Region II from 2008-2009.
