We can all see it coming...drought is a reality in our region and it doesn't look like it will be leaving any time soon. Hugelkulture is a permaculture technique that allows moisture to be sequestered within your soil, to be slowly released as your plants need it.

This is a technique that can really benefit a small farm that uses a tank for irrigation. If your tank fails to make it through the heat of summer in north Texas, you need to attend this workshop!

Jason Ramsey, a permaculturist with PermacultureDenton and a former farm manager, will conduct this workshop at Barking Cat Farm. This is hands on, and we will actually be building the structures required to implement the design using the machinery available at Barking Cat Farm.

Please dress appropriately for the weather as the class will be outside, and bring a sack lunch. Additionally, parking is limited and the area may be muddy, so please consider carpooling to conserve resources and parking space.
