Laughing Frog Farm is a small diversified farm in northern Waller County, Texas, 60 miles from downtown Houston and 110 miles from Austin. The farm is on 21 acres of partially wooded land. We use permaculture methods and organic principles to raise fruit trees, vegetables, Gulf
Coast Native Sheep, Freedom Ranger meat chickens, egg laying chickens (mostly heritage breeds), aquaponics fish, geese, red wattle pigs, tomato starts, and microgreens. We have been growing organically since starting a small garden in Houston in 1978.
We utilize swales and huglekulture, livestock rotation, a small fodder system and aquaponics.
We do not till the soil, but leave the soil aeration and fertilization to the sheep, pigs and chickens, adding mulch and cover crops.
Parking can become a problem in wet weather.
A farm lunch will be available for purchase or you can bring your own food and drink.
