The new FSMA regulation requires every processing facility to have a trained resource person or Preventive Controls Qualified Individual who has completed a specialized training course such as the one developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) that is recognized by the FDA. This person will oversee the implementation of the facility’s food safety plan and other key tasks.
The blended course allows participants to complete a portion of the training online and then attend only a one-day, instructor-led workshop to finish the certificate. Part 1: Online is offered through Oklahoma State University. Part 2: Instructor-Led Course is available at 3 different conferences beginning in October. When Part 1 is complete, you will receive an email that will be your final entry pass into the Part 2 course. Thanks to a grant from USDA NIFA, the cost of the online portion will be free to those who register through the link below. There will be minimal costs for Part 2 based on each conference's fee structure. Please see below for more information. You must register for both Part 1 & Part 2 separately!
