Calling Additional Community Leaders!

TOFGA is making a State-Wide Call for Community Leaders! To better serve the almost 700 members located
throughout our great state,  we are seeking 2 or more TOFGA members in each county (that's 254 counties!)
to spread the word about organic and sustainable ranching and farming.
The time has never been better for agriculture in Texas.
Markets have never been more informed or more eager for products from Local Producers.
Help your county enter the most exciting time of opportunity.
TOFGA is here to help with resources such as brochures, power-point presentations,
TCOOPS speaker CDs, regional and local workshops and more.
 Contact TOFGA at
info@tofga.org to volunteer today or for more information!

Imported Food Recalls Have Texans Worried.

12/9/2007

All the recent recalls have a lot of Texans worried about the safety of imported food. The state agriculture commissioner says there's a worry free solution in your own back yard. Commissioner Todd Staples told a homeland security conference many are joining the "Go Texan Program" serving primarily wines, meats and other products grown right here, which not only eases a lot of safety concerns but also supports local producers.
