Greetings from your Region 1 Director, Hans Hansen. My apology for the low profile for so long. It has been a wild past year though things are looking up. It has been a fine winter, we're moving into the new year with a nice head of steam, lots of stuff happening on the home front.

First, starting with a TOFGA Region 1 and 5 joint farm tour and potluck on Sunday March 17th, 11 am to 2 pm at Blackwood Bounty CSA / Blackwood Educational Land Institute in Hempstead, TX. I'll send out a reminder shortly or you can send an RSVP to

If you want a preview of the farm, visit us at our Facebook page Beautiful location, comfortable facilities to accommodate a fine TOFGA get together. It should be a great spring day for a farm tour TOFGA meet.

The tour will be of my Blackwood Bounty CSA production facility and garden. I've invited CSA members and friends from Houston and elsewhere to stir up a little momentum for TOFGA and the upcoming TOFGA Conference in Houston in 2014. Region 5 director, Justin Duncan, I and friends are anticipating a great 2014 TOFGA Conference and want you to feel at home with this precursor.

Send me an email, I'll send you the address, a map to get here. I look forward to meeting you.

    Hans Hansen

It was great meeting with everyone at the TOFGA conference last week.  We had a chance at our Region 1 meeting to share our vision for a farmers cooperative store in Brenham, TX.  We are looking for producers within Region 1 to help with year-round supply.  Please contact us if you would like to grow with us.  We have a list of things that we need others to grow.  Because we ourselves are growers, we are committed to offering the best prices for the farmers.

    Farm on!
